I sit here everyday an wait for the phone to ring or to see a letter in the mail. I check my email everyday just to read the few words he has time to type. The Army offers alot of things to help you prepare for deployments but they can never prepare you for what really goes on during that time. They have a habit of sugar coating everything well I'm here to tell you it's nothing like they say it will be. You may or may not here from your husband for days at a time. Those moments are the hardest and the awful things that run through your mind during that time well you won't sleep at night that's for sure. When you do here from him he may not sound the same as he before he deployed. Usually this is because of lack of sleep and the things he has seen or done and he doesn't want to talk about it.
My husband has been in the Army 15yrs on the part time side and 5 yrs on the full time side It's never been an easy life but when he went full time well I'll just say it has been hell at times. It is worth it when you see him doing what he loves and I wouldn't change a thing except to have him home right now. Ladies I will tell you this in the military world deployments are the hardest. Being lonely, afraid, and not knowing what the future will hold for you both. It's a hard road and you have to be the strong one all the time, Because they will need you. Sometimes life will be great but there may be moments when you question your strength. We as military wives have to be everything to them. There will be times when you will need to be there for them and put your feelings aside. It takes a strong woman to be a military spouse. I love my soldier very much and will always be there for him.........
